RedBus CEO Prakash Sangam said in a statement, 'The stand-alone RedRail app has been launched at a time when there is a lot of potential. At present, digital adoption for ticket booking has been increasing continuously for the last two years in both the bus and train segments. In the online train ticket booking market, about 10 lakh transactions take place every day across the country, which is a huge opportunity. 

What is the company's planning?

That is, people have turned to digital platforms for ticket booking during the Corona period. The company will also get the benefit of overlap of bus and train passengers. About 65 percent of the people traveling by bus also use train and train passenger buses and the company can use this user base to further RedRail.

Since the company is present in the bus ticket booking segment for a long time, they have a huge user base of bus passengers, who can be attracted to RedRail to book train tickets. 

Prakash said, “Our bus ticket booking platform has already witnessed significant growth in the intercity bus segment and now we are trying to find ground in the online train ticket booking category. We expect this segment to account for 10-15% of the total ticket booking value of the company. He told that Red Bus is planning to launch the app in 5 to 6 local languages ​​as well.
