Bad news for some markets in India. The US Trade Authority has blacklisted three markets in India. This includes Delhi's Palika Bazar, Mumbai's Heera Panna Bazar and Kolkata's Kiddarpur Bazar. This action has been taken after the complaints of American brands are being received for selling duplicate goods. Along with this, the authority has also blacklisted India Mart and some other e-commerce websites.

The US authority alleges that duplicate goods of their brands are sold at 10 times lower prices in these markets. The most duplicated items are electronics and clothing. Global Trade Representative Catherine Tai reviewed all markets in the name of selling counterfeit goods in 2021. He said that selling of duplicate and pirated material is affecting the global business. At the same time, American workers are being harmed by declining American innovation and creativity.
The report cited 42 online markets and 35 markets that were continuously infringing trademarks and copyrights. US officials told Bhaskar that markets like Palika Bazar damage the reputation of expensive brands worth billions of dollars. Therefore, blacklisted American tourists have been advised to beware of such markets.

Here, the Indian Trade Association has denied this report and said that it is not so. Some duplicate cosmetics have been found in Kiddarpur Market, Kolkata. Due to this, many people have caused irritation in the eyes, skin related problems.

The highest 78 percent of duplicate goods recovered from China,
2.5% of duplicate goods sold in the US globally. It is about 37 lakh crore rupees. Most of the duplicate goods are made in China. Chinese traders from Hong Kong send duplicate goods to India by sea. In the raid, 78% of the duplicate items were found from China. The Blacklist market also houses the Beijing Silk Market.
