Indian government asked iPhone-iPad users to update their devices immediately, know why?

Government of India's official IT security organization CERT-In (Indian Computer Emergency Response Team) has asked all Apple users to immediately update their iPhone and iPad units to the latest version. Earlier this week, iOS 14.7.1 and iPadOS 14.7.1 OS were released with critical bug fixes.

CERT-In has said that it has received information about a flaw in Apple iOS and iPadOS. It can be misused by a distant attacker to damage a targeted system.

According to CERT-In, Apple iPhone and iPad users should immediately upgrade their devices to iOS 14.7.1 and iPadOS 14.7.1. The version should be updated.

According to the government, there are security-related flaws in iOS and iPad, which criminals can take advantage of. CERT-In has issued a serious warning regarding the recently discovered memory corruption flaw.

These defects include iPhone 6s and above, iPadPro (all models), iPad Air 2 and above, iPad 5th generation and above, iPad mini 4 and above, iPod touch (7th generation) and macOS Can damage models running on Big Sur. This week the macOS Big Sur 11.5.1 update was also released for Mac devices.

In such a situation, iPhone and iPad users who have not updated their devices yet, do it immediately. To do this, users will have to go to Settings > General > Software Update and manually install the update by looking for it. Similarly, Mac users will have to go to System Preferences in the Apple menu and click on Software Update to update their device.
